The power of your imagination is unreal. Literally ... at times everything you are imagining is not real what so ever. Such as the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow being held captive by a little orange haired leprechaun, wearing pointy black shoes with a brass buckle and sporting a long beard. Or the idea of magical creatures such as unicorns. You know, some pink or purple horse with a spirit stick coming out of its ... head, it's head you guys gosh get your head out of the gutter, that farts out glitter and butterflies. Or that pigs flying thing we always talk about. Lastly, and quite possibly that money grows on trees. I get it though it's like reaaaally fun to think about these unreal, insanely magical thoughts. I do it too, don't fret.
So how cool would it be if those unreal thoughts could be true? In theory ... really cool. But at the same time think about this ... the same little leprechaun holding a pot of gold hostage sounds a bit selfish and if he is willing to hold that hostage what else is he willing to hold? A pink unicorn farting out glitter sounds fun ... for a second ... but a bit messy and I think we would be cleaning up glitter for the rest of our lives. Pigs flying? You think getting pooped on by a bird is bad, imagine if a pig happened to have an upset stomach right over your freshly shampooed hair? I'll take money growing on trees though. I could use some extra cash. That would be pretty neat. I think ...
But let's take a step back. Let's get back to the point of this and it is most definitely not rainbows and unicorns.
Imagination really is such a powerful concept we have. Sure, your imagination is similar to day dreaming but I think there is a unique difference between using your imagination and day dreaming. Using your imagination has a way of making it feel real, where you can actually visualize it, you can make a plan on how to make it your reality, and you can really feel it in your bones.
When you day dream you are really just in a trance or at least this is my take on that feeling. You know what I am talking about. When you're stuck in a school class and the teacher is boring the heck out of you and you are day dreaming about you sleeping in your bed, swimming in a pool of chocolate, and dancing on the clouds. But as soon as someone snaps their fingers in your face or asks you what the answer to the math equation your teacher was trying to explain the trance stops and boom back to reality you go with your heart racing and maybe you peed your pants a little.
Logic gets you from Point A to Point B but imagination takes you literally anywhere you want to go. Shit that sounds so exciting to me. I guess if you really wanted to you could still go to the land of unicorns, rainbows, pigs flying and money growing on trees ... if you really want. I will allow it.
It’s my imagination thats fires me up, that creates all the ideas that I have contained in my head. It takes me to a universe that’s just me and all the endless possibilities that I will one day make my reality.
For instance my imagination is so telling me I can start sprinting six weeks post spinal surgery. Logically I can’t and we’ll frankly I’m not allowed but when my imagination tells me that I know that I could if it was due or die but more importantly that it will happen one day in my recovery.
Honestly, the power of the mind and our imagination is where great ideas happen. Imagination shouldn't stop when we reach a certain grade, or age. It shouldn't stop because we think we are too much to imagine deeply. In all honestly your imagine should run even further and more wild when your older because your mind has constantly gained new knowledge and can create more.
So, my point is ... instead of the little leprechaun with the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, imagine yourself with your very own pot of gold. Now metaphorically maybe you really want the gold be in cases like mine that pot of gold would be me standing on stage after stage telling my story and reaching a huge audience. That magical unicorn, for me that's me imagining my life filled with magic, that magic being watching my movement actual move. The pigs flying, thats me flying and floating on cloud nine from using my imagination, creating ideas, and making my dreams a reality. Lastly, the money growing on trees thing thats me traveling for a living without having to pay for a penny of it, doing a speaking tour and a book tour and knocking everything off my bucket list. That's where my imagination is headed. That's my head in the clouds. Where is yours?
"We do not need magic to change the world. We carry all the power we need inside ourselves already. We have the power to imagine better." -- JK Rowling
If you want to change the world, like me. Just imagine it happening. Use that mind of yours and imagine how to do it. Imagine every single detail. Every potential mistake. Every potential success. Every small victory. Remember that your mind is capable of just about anything. That it is so powerful it can create, invent, destroy, and experience with just thoughts a lone. Wow.
If you can imagine it, you can create it. I suppose even if it's the rainbows, unicorns, pigs flying sort of thing. You do you and I fully support all the creativity this world and every human has to offer. Your imagination is simply a preview of life's coming attractions.
