"Your WHY is the purpose, cause or belief that inspires you. ... at work and at home, that will help you find greater fulfillment in all that you do ... This is what it means to find your WHY... Fulfillment comes when we live our lives on purpose." -- Simon Sinek
I think Simon Sinek says it best. That's probably why he has written a book on this topic and has the famous TED talk also on this topic... This idea has always resonated with me but now more so than ever and it's important when an idea fits your own purpose... Run. With. It.
Currently, I am in the process of trying to create something larger than life. To create a movement that actual moves. To create something much, much bigger than 5'3" Alexa Glazer. Something that I want the entire world to grasp on to. Something that sticks, roams, and adventures. I want not only have an entrepreneurship mindset and that blood type in my veins but to actual become an entrepreneur. To say "I created this. This is my baby." The idea of my why has become exceedingly important in my journey up to this point and for all my future endeavors.
It's become vastly important because in moments of fear, moments of chaos, moments of defeat, or a plateau you have to be able to go back to your why. Your why should become your happy place. Your safe haven. Essentially, it is and should be your bible.
This is the case in everything in life. All aspirations begin with the why. This is in careers, relationships, families and everything "life." The follow through however is up to you. Keep your mind in check with that purpose and not the end all, be all of possibilities of large success, money, and the shiny aspects of being an entrepreneur.
Knowing your why is knowing your values. It's one thing to know and understand your values but its another to actually value them. Seems a bit contradictatory but many people don't put this into account. Valuing your values as I said before is all about following through with them. Your values shouldn't just look good on paper but they should be active in your life, daily.
When you stop worrying about what can be. When you stop stressing about the little things. When you stop wondering how to get there and focus more on why you want to get there your "how" prayers will be answered. In time. One day. In the future. Maybe that day is today, maybe tomorrow, maybe 3 years from now? Never give up on you why. Your purpose.
